Fourth Grade Numbers

Whole Numbers:

• Write whole numbers in expanded, standard and word form through 6 digits

• Compare and order whole numbers through 6 digits and amounts of money to $100

Performance Task- Population of Pennsylvania Counties

• Find factors of a given number (factors through 10)

• Find multiples of a number (multiples do not exceed 100)

• Round whole number and whole dollar amounts to the nearest ten, hundred thousand, ten-thousand and hundred-thousand

• Estimate the answer to addition, subtraction, and multiplication problems through 6 digits (for multiplication, limit to 2 digit by 1 digit)

• Solve problems involving all operations and explain the solution (limit to single digit multipliers and divisors)

  Performance Task- Scout's Fishing Trip

Decimals:

• Match/construct drawings, diagrams, models to the correct decimal number

• Match the standard number form to the word form of decimals numbers (to hundredths)

• Locate decimals on a number line (through hundredths)

• Round amounts of money to the nearest dollar

• Compute addition and subtraction problems with decimals (through hundredths)

• Solve word problems involving addition, subtraction, or multiplication with decimals (through tenths) and explain the solution (in multiplication, one factor must be a one-digit whole number)

Fractions:

• Match/construct drawings, diagrams, models to the correct fraction or mixed number

• Locate fractions on a number line (denominators to tenths)

• Solve addition or subtraction problems with fractions with like denominators (denominators to tenths, no simplification)
