    Bucket

    We are a bucket filling school!

    • Have You Filled A Bucket Today? by Carol McCloud is a book that explains to children that we all carry an invisible bucket where we keep our feelings about ourselves. The purpose of the bucket is to hold your good thoughts and feelings about yourself. When your bucket is full, you feel happy. When your bucket is empty, you feel sad. We can fill our own bucket and so can others. We can also dip into buckets.

      “Bucket fillers” are those who say or do something kind, who do nice things for someone and make others feel special.

      “Bucket dippers” say or do mean things that make others feel bad.

      Children love being bucket fillers! The book explains the concepts in easy to understand language, and by colorful illustrations. With encouragement from teachers, school staff, parents, grandparents, and others children will be life-long bucket fillers!

      East Stroudsburg Elementary has been awarded a banner from the Pennsylvania Positive Behavior Support Network for their School Wide Positive Behavior Support Program. The award is in recognition of fidelity of implementation at the universal level. Pictured are the staff members that are on the ESE School-Wide Positive Behavior Committee.

    Principal's Corner

    Mrs. Livingston
    • I am thrilled to be the building principal and instructional leader at the new East Stroudsburg Elementary School. After retiring from the New York City Department of Education with a thirty-three year career as teacher, assistant principal, principal and deputy superintendent, I began in this district in 2005 as Assistant Principal at J.T.Lambert Intermediate School. In 2006, I became Assistant Principal at Middle Smithfield Elementary School where I worked until June 2008. In March 2008 I began my tenure as Principal of East Stroudsburg Elementary, while simultaneously completing my responsibilities at Middle Smithfield. I am very excited about the culture that is being established at our school. We are a beautiful mosaic which is composed of parents and students from three different schools and faculty and staff from six different buildings. We envision our school as a community where students, staff and parents work together to create an atmosphere that promotes academic excellence. Ultimately, the students of our community will become life-long learners who are productive citizens of our society. They will have long-term goals, high self-esteem and respect for themselves and all others. The students will develop decision-making skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Our school motto is “ESE Where We Strive for Excellence!”
