East Stroudsburg Area School District

A game played on a checkerboard using 16 pieces with varying move styles. The object is to trap the opponent's most valuable piece, the king, so it has no place to shield itself from enemy attack. There is a chess club in JTL and a chess team at East Stroudsburg South to which all are encouraged to join. Experience and excpetional skill are not needed at either, although knowing where and how the pieces move is suggested at team level.
