I am so very proud to be a part of the JM Hill community of learners. Children are the focus of everything we do here at JM Hill Elementary School. Striving for academic success as well as building character are some of our building goals.
The mission of J.M. Hill Elementary School is to prepare all students to maximize their individual potential and demonstrate their mastery of defined knowledge and skills. Our goal is to empower students to become contributing members of a diverse society.
As a member of the JM Hill family, you will soon find out that we are very proud of our community of learners, made up of outstanding students, an expert and dedicated staff of caring professionals, active and involved parents and a supportive community. We are committed to working together toward the success of all of the children at JM Hill Elementary School.
We have an extremely active PTO in our school. They volunteer throughout the school year in classrooms, and for activites your children attend and enjoy. Please consider joining and supporting them while your children are here.
Remember, whatever it takes, our kids are worth it!
J.M. Hill Elementary was named after Jacob M. Hill , an East Stroudsburg school director for 40 years and a former Monroe County official. Before entering the insurance business, he taught in Tobyhanna for two years and served as an eighth grade teacher in East Stroudsburg from 1908 to 1912. He was instrumental in the purchase of the old Maplehurst Hotel property on North Courtland Street now the site of East Stroudsburg High School South.
